That pork you ate for dinner last night? Farmers got to work on that a year ago. Of course, much has changed since then. Slowdowns at processing plants could affect farmers and consumers for months to come in the nation's third-largest state for pig production.

  • James Lamb raises pigs on his family farm in Sampson County, North Carolina. He is also an environmental specialist with Prestage Farms and a graduate of NC State's Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering.
